Malbon Golf has appointed Aaron Heiser to the role of chief executive officer, effective immediately, reporting to the sporting brand’s board of directors.
Founders Stephen and Erica Malbon will continue as co-chief creative officers and will continue to serve on the board, according to a WWD report.
A sportswear veteran, Heiser joines Malbon Golf from U.S. sportswear giant Nike, where he spent nearly 18 years, most recently serving as global vice president of apparel, accessories and licensing. He also served as vice president and general manager of the Greater China retail division at Nike, was general manager of its Western European Nike stores, and also served as general merchandise manager of its U.S. stores.
Prior to Nike, Heiser also held stints at Armani Exchange, Tommy Hilfiger and Gap Inc., starting his career at the Federated Merchandising Group.
“We did a year’s worth of interviewing before we decided on Aaron,” Erica Malbon told WWD. “Steven and I started the brand in 2017 with a lot of passion, but not a lot of expertise in fashion and apparel. Stephen and I are excited for this next chapter for Malbon. We searched high and low to find the person that we felt would align with the culture that we have built yet understands the inner working of a global lifestyle and sports apparel business. Aaron checked our boxes and we couldn’t be more enthusiastic about him joining the team.”
Found in California by the husband-and-wife duo, Malbon Golf is a specialty golf apparel and accessories brand, the fuses style with performance for golfing professionals and amateurs. Today, the company boasts stores in New York, Los Angeles, Miami and California, as well as operations in Asia and Europe.
