Resident Allan Kerr, 66, was found with significant injuries after he was allegedly attacked by a man armed with an axe.

He was airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital, where he has undergone surgery and is in a stable condition.
A 26-year-old man was arrested at a Kingscliff home about 5.30pm on Wednesday.
He was later charged with special aggravated break and enter and committing a serious indictable offence.
He has been refused bail and is scheduled to appear before Tweed Heads Local Court on Thursday.
Police will allege the man broke into the home on Tuesday night and assaulted Kerr before fleeing.
Zimmer said there is evidence “a significant and violent confrontation” took place at the home.
“It will be alleged that the deceased and … a male have entered the premises with force and without consent, where they’ve confronted the occupant and struck him multiple times with an axe,” he said.
