The Barcelona-based fashion company is reorganizing the leadership of its home division. Thus, the former director of Mango’s franchise business will now lead the home category, succeeding Laura Vila, who bids farewell to the company after a 17-year tenure to “embark on new professional challenges.”
To drive the new growth phase of Mango Home, the company led by Toni Ruiz has chosen to promote internal talent. The new director of its decoration division brings nearly two decades of experience within the Spanish firm. She, who will take charge of the line starting this June, holds a degree in business administration and management from the University of Barcelona and has specialized management qualifications from IESE Business School at the University of Navarra, as well as in digital business from ISDI.
After beginning her professional career as an auditor at KPMG in 2006, Nuria Font joined Mango as a product manager in commercial product management. Over the following years, she held various roles of responsibility, including B2B key account manager for Asian and Middle Eastern markets, head of the wholesale department, project manager, and director of the franchise business team, a position she held since 2017.
This appointment is part of the new strategic plan for 2024-2026. As reported by the fashion company, the promotion of Nuria Font will “strengthen the value proposition of Mango Home through aspirationality, quality, and distinct style.”
The first Mango Home stores will open in 2025
Mango took its first steps in diversifying its offerings towards the home universe in 2021, when it launched the Mango Home line through the online channel. Over its first two years, the division has doubled in size. Its offerings are now available in five physical stores in cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, and Zaragoza, as well as in 32 online markets, primarily in Europe and the United States.
The line, which began with a textile collection, has progressively added new categories of decorative and household products to expand its offerings for every room in the home. Throughout the current fiscal year, Mango Home will continue to expand its physical sales points and will enter new online markets, including Turkey. Mango aims to open its first physical home stores in 2025.
Founded in Barcelona in 1984, Mango closed 2023 with record revenue of 3.103 billion euros, with 33% of its business coming from the online channel and presence in over 115 markets.
