Marlon Humphrey roasted for ‘disgusting’ Simone Biles post

He should’ve shut down his X app before hitting send on a recent post.

Humphrey has been getting eviscerated online after called an act of sportsmanship by U.S. gymnasts Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles “disgusting.”

During the podium ceremony for the women’s artistic gymnastics floor exercise, silver medallist Biles and bronze medallist Chiles bowed down to gold medallist Rebeca Andrade of Brazil.

The picture quickly went viral as an excellent example of sportsmanship as the Americans saluted Andrade, who has suffered three torn ACLs during her career.

Humphrey apparently didn’t see it that way and reposted the picture shared by ESPN’s SportsCenter account and wrote, “This is literally disgusting.”

The post has been viewed more than 8 million times since Monday and, predictably, has generated a lot of feedback.

“Yeah, because giving someone their flowers who has come back from THREE ACL tears to continue to be a top gymnast is disgusting,” one user on X replied.

“Three black women who are the best at what they do showing sportsmanship is what you would define as disgusting?” a second user rhetorically asked.

“Yeah good sportsmanship to a competitor that came back from 3 ACL injuries is literally disgusting! kick rocks lol,” another added.

In perhaps the biggest ironic twist, the three-time Pro Bowler missed seven games last season through multiple different injuries.

Humphrey did respond to the uproar later on Monday without apologizing for his terrible take.

“I’m lowkey getting cooked right now. I think I’m getting cussed out in Brazilian on Instagram lol,” he wrote on X.

Of course, the national language of Brazil is Portuguese, another fact that social media users were quick to point out to Humphrey.

While Biles hasn’t directly commented on Humphrey’s post, she did take the opportunity to once again give Andrade her props during an appearance on the Today Show on Tuesday.

“I think it’s all about sportsmanship and we don’t care whether we win or lose,” Biles said.

“We’re always going to keep a good face and support our competitors because they’ve worked just as hard as we have for that moment.

“You have to give them their flowers and that’s exactly what me and Jordan were doing.

“We were so happy for her. She deserved it, she had the best floor routine of the day, and of the Olympics.”
