Finding a perfect nude lipstick can be like looking for a needle in a haystack (or, for those with darker skin, like looking for a piece of hay in a needlestack). But when you do find the right shade of nude lipstick for you, it can feel magical. I’m beyond positive that’s how Martha Stewart felt when she wore what we are calling a “supernude” lipstick.
On October 17, Stewart arrived at the FGI Night of Stars 39th Annual Gala wearing a white tweed outfit with her lightly curled bob grazing her shoulders. Her skin looked radiant and glowy, likely a result of years of skin treatments and a good skin-care routine plus some highlighter. As we noted on October 5, Martha Stewart said screw highlighter conventions and has been wearing the shimmery product on the apples of her cheeks, which she did again for this appearance. Her cheeks also appeared to have a bronzer or contouring product applied to them as well. Her eyes were lined with black liner, both on the lashlines and in the waterlines.
But the real star of this look is her nude, glossy lips. Whatever product she used was a light tan shade; though we don’t know the exact product, we think NYX Butter Gloss in Fortune Cookie is a close match. (Not only has the Butter Gloss won three Allure Readers’ Choice awards in a row it has also been heralded as a fan-favorite for folks with darker skin.) Some other great lip glosses that come in various nude shades include the tinted version of the Rhode Beauty Peptide Lip Tint, Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Heat Universal Lip Luminizer and Plumper, and Juvia’s Place Silky Glass Gloss.
