BSNL added over 55 million new users between July and August with Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio bearing the brunt of the losses, losing over 40 lakh users during the same period.
In another major step to counter the rising popularity of state-owned BSNL, Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio, India’s largest telecom provider, has introduced two new tariff plans, offering unlimited calling and high-speed 5G data to users for 90, and 98, days respectively.
We are talking about Jio’s Rs 899 and Rs 999 plan, which offers a validity of 90 and 98 days respectively, offering unlimited calling and data to users at less than Rs 10 per day.
Rs 899
Jio’s Rs 899 plan offers 2GB of daily high-speed data and unlimited 5G data for eligible users with 5G-compatible handsets, besides also offering unlimited calling and other benefits like free national roaming like 100 free SMS daily, and access to supplementary services like JioTV, JioCinema and JioCloud.
The plan carries a validity of 90 days.
Rs 999 plan
Similar to the Rs 899 plan, the Rs 999 tariff plan offers users 2GB of daily high-speed data and unlimited 5G data for eligible users with 5G-compatible handsets. The plan also provides other benefits like unlimited calling, free national roaming and 100 free SMS daily, apart from access to supplementary Jio services like JioTV, JioCinema and JioCloud.
Jio’s new recharge plans are aimed to attract users who shifted to BSNL in large numbers after mobile tariffs were raised by a significant margin earlier in July this year. According to reports, BSNL added over 55 million new users between July and August with Reliance Jio bearing the brunt of the losses, losing over 40 lakh users during the same period.
