McDonald’s has confirmed a major change to its Quarter Pounder range, with the release of two new versions of the iconic burger.
From Wednesday, August 7, Macca’s will be offering four Quarter Pounder varieties in all restaurants across Australia.
Included in the new menu is the brand-new Quarter Pounder BBQ Bacon and Crispy Onions, which includes 100 per cent Aussie beef and pickles, cheese, bacon and golden crispy onions topped with tasty barbecue sauce.

This is the first time this variety has been offered for sale in Australia.
McDonald’s is also bringing back its popular Quarter Pounder Deluxe, which sees lettuce, tomato, McChicken sauce, and two slices of cheese added to the classic combination.
As part of the range, Macca’s lovers can also pick up its signature burgers — the Quarter Pounder and Double Quarter Pounder.
McDonald’s has confirmed it will continue to offer its limited edition Mozzarella Sticks with Sweet Chilli Sauce for sale through winter.
“Our winter menu is all about adding a seasonal touch on Macca’s classic flavours – debatably, it doesn’t get more iconic than the Quarter Pounder,” McDonald’s Australia senior brand manager Liz Whitbread said
“With fresh twists on one of our most loved burgers, featuring exciting new flavour combinations and quality ingredients, we’re warming up Macca’s winter menu and satisfying those cravings this season.”
The winter menu items will be available in Macca’s restaurants nationwide, via drive thru, kiosk and front counter, as well as the MyMacca’s app and McDelivery from Wednesday 7 August 2024, for a limited time only.

New Quarter Pounder menu
From Wednesday, these four options will be available in stores.
- Quarter Pounder BBQ Bacon and Crispy Onions — the iconic Quarter Pounder with a brand-new twist. Rasher bacon, crispy onions and delicious barbecue sauce, stacked on top of 100 per cent Aussie beef and pickles, plus cheese.
- Quarter Pounder Deluxe — back for a limited time, this new twist features crisp lettuce, fresh tomatoes and pickles, stacked on top of 100 per cent Aussie beef, plus cheese, onions, tangy mustard, ketchup and McChicken sauce.
- Quarter Pounder — the original combination. Quarter pound of 100 per cent Aussie beef and pickles, paired with cheese, onions, tangy mustard and ketchup.
- Double Quarter Pounder — the original combination but with double the meat and flavour. Two quarter pounds of 100 per cent Aussie beef and pickles, paired with cheese, onions, tangy mustard and ketchup.
