The Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) conducts the Civil Services examination, a competitive examination that is tough to crack. Hailing from the small town of Boisar in the Palghar district of Maharashtra, IAS Officer Varun Baranwal dreamt of becoming a doctor. His father, a bicycle mechanic, used to run a small bicycle repair shop. However, things started to fall and situations got worse when Baranwal lost his father in 2006. Varun stopped vpursuing studying at a very young age.

Varun’s father’s cycle repair shop was the family’s sole source of income. Following his father’s passing, Varun took it upon himself to manage the shop and support his family. Despite the challenges, he excelled academically, topping his class in the 10th exam.

Whenever Varun Kumar faced challenges, he was fortunate to encounter individuals who significantly changed his life. A significant figure in his journey was Dr. Kampli, a close friend of Varun’s late father, who had provided medical care for him before his passing. Dr. Kampli played a crucial role not only by helping with Varun’s initial college fees but also by supporting his aspirations to pursue IAS studies later on.

After completing his schooling, Varun initially decided to follow his passion for medicine by enrolling in medical college. However, he soon realized that the costs associated with medical education were too high. Consequently, he shifted his focus to engineering, opting to prepare for a career in that field instead.
