The story of the science student began as he worked as a just another hairdresser working at Tokyo Beauty Parlour in Mumbai. His name was Mickey Contractor. Just like that, the queen of silver screen Helen walked in. And because no other employee was free to do her hair, Mickey stepped up . When he expressed to style her for her movies, Helen told him that hair dressing was just for women in Bollywood at that time and if he wanted to take a shot in the movies, then he could try to be a makeup artist instead.

This switch in career gears did not sit to well with his mother who paid a fortune to help him propel towards his dreams.
That’s when his struggle began when he would do makeup for the extras, backup dancers, supporting cast, basically anyone but the lead actress. But, it was only a rite of passage until he got his big break in 1992 with the film ‘Bekhudi’ with Kajol.
And then it was upwards and forwards for Mickey Contractor. Since then he has worked in films like Hum Apke Hain Kaun, Dil to Pagal Hai, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Kal Ho Na Ho, Mohabattein, My Name Is Khan, Kartik Calling Kartik, Don, Veere Di Wedding, Good News and English Medium to name a few.
