New Delhi: Clearing the UPSC Civil Services examination is a challenging task. Many aspirants attempt the exam repeatedly but often face setbacks, eventually reaching the age limit without success. In contrast, some fortunate candidates manage to pass the examination on their first attempt. Poverty and unfavorable conditions can also motivate a person to pursue their goals.

With determination in his heart and clear goals in mind, the journey of the youngest IAS Officer Ansar Shaikh is truly inspiring.  At the age of 21, Ansar Shaikh became the first IAS Officer to clear the civil services examination. Read his success story.

At the age of 21, he successfully achieved an All India Rank(AIR) of 361 in the 2016 UPSC CSE Exam. Hailing from Maharashtra’s Jalna village in the Marathwada district, Shaikh was raised by an autorickshaw driver and field labourer parents. With a well-structured plan for success, Ansar excelled in school and opted to take the UPSC exams in Marathi and Political Science.
