Mahadev Kumar, hailing from the humble abode of Pathargama block in Godda, Jharkhand, has indeed become a beacon of achievement for his family and entire village. Battling financial adversities, he accomplished an impressive AIR of 386 in the NEET exam. As per the latest news shared by Local 18, he has now gained entry into the esteemed Medini Rai Medical College located in Palamu.
Mahadev’s struggle during early days
Mahadev explained how his papa managed to journey into the metropolis to vend milk despite having a packed routine of chores. His day was filled with various tasks, from marketing milk to taking care of the cows, still, he managed to carve out time for his studies.
Kumar’s academic journey began at the local Gyan Ganga Residential School. Later, fortune smiled on him when he was chosen to enter the 6th grade at Navodaya Vidyalaya where he pursued learning till the 10th grade. Post that, he moved to Patna to finish his 11th and 12th grades, took a brief pause to gear up for his upcoming NEET exam, then made his way back home.
Kumar’s mother died early
Kumar suffered a massive loss with the demise of his mother a decade and a half ago. This led his father going above and beyond in making sure Kumar got the best education. Mahadev kept his focus targeted on the NEET exam, combining home studies with a couple of months learning in Patna. He poured in dedication and commitment, studying for 14 to 16 intensive hours daily while also lending a hand in his father’s work.
