Speaking of the same, meet Indian-origin Vaibhav Taneja, who recently stepped into the role of Chief Financial Officer at Tesla. 46-year-old Taneja started his journey from Delhi University to Tesla. He is a commerce graduate from the University of Delhi and became a part of Tesla’s team in 2016 as he joined SolarCity, which was acquired by Tesla. Vaibhav Taneja holds a Bachelors of Commerce degree from Delhi University and is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive). Prior to his appointment as CFO, Taneja, served as Tesla’s Chief Accounting Officer since March 2019, as Corporate Controller from May 2018, and as Assistant Corporate Controller between February 2017 and May 2018. In addition, he served in various finance and accounting roles at SolarCity Corporation from March 2016. According to his LinkedIn profile, he completed his chartered accountancy at ICAI between 1997 and 2000.

Vaibhav served as the Chief Financial Officer(CFO) since August 2023. With over 18 years of experience in finance across sectors like technology, retail, and telecommunications, Vaibhav Taneja has established himself as a seasoned professional. He began his career at PriceWaterhouseCoopers in 1999 as an Assistant Manager, dedicating nearly 17 years to the firm. During his tenure, he specialized in various financial functions, including the preparation and auditing of financial statements for submission to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), honing skills that would later prove invaluable in his role at Tesla.
