Success Story: Ankit Prasad is a young entrepreneur from the small town of Chaibasa in Jharkhand. His father initially worked as a lab in-charge at Tata College in Chaibasa. He later secured a position at IIT Jamshedpur. From a young age, Ankit and his brother Rahul developed a strong interest in web designing. During their school years, they began exploring various websites and turned their passion into a small venture. Their craze for computers was further encouraged when their father gifted them a computer in 1995. By the age of six, Ankit had already started learning programming.

Balancing Studies and Earnings

Ankit ranked among the top three in his class 10th examinations. In 2005, while attending college, Ankit and Rahul started earning through web services. They designed websites for hotels, restaurants, and other businesses. Like many youngsters from small towns, Ankit dreamt of cracking the IIT entrance exams. In 2007, he appeared for the exam and secured a rank of over 5,000. Though eligible for admission to NIT Jamshedpur, he decided to aim higher.

Journey to IIT

In 2008, Ankit tried again and secured an impressive 400th rank in the IIT entrance exam. He was admitted to IIT Delhi, where he pursued Mathematics and Computer Programming.

During his time at IIT Delhi, he was exposed to a variety of people that shaped his innovative mindset.

Ankit recalls how witnessing the rise of companies like Zomato and Flipkart in Delhi’s budding startup ecosystem inspired him. The exposure pushed him to dream big and think innovatively.

Ankit shares that during his time at IIT Delhi, he worked with several companies and gained valuable experience. He then created a social networking platform called Touch Talent, but it didn’t achieve significant success. in 2012, Ankit left IIT to pursue his dream. In 2015, he co-founded Bobble AI with his brother Rahul.

The app applies a user’s selfie to a database of emojis, stickers, and GIFs, among other graphics in order to make texting more expressive and visual.

Success with Bobble AI

Their company developed the “Bobble Indic Keyboard,” which supports 37 Indian languages and over 120 global languages. By 2023, Bobble AI had achieved a remarkable revenue of Rs 750 crore.

In 2018, Ankit was included on the Forbes 30 under 30 list because of his remarkable achievement. He also appeared in Business World magazine’s list of the 40 under 40.
