Meet this IAS officer who once asked for bribe by cops

This woman IAS officer shared a bitter experience with cops that had prompted her to get into civil services. She cleared the UPSC exam and became an IPS officer. In 2016, she once again appeared in the civil services exam and secured an impressive rank of AIR 55 to hold the position of an IAS officer.

Garima Singh, a native of Ballia in Uttar Pradesh, earned her graduate and postgraduate degrees from St Stephen’s College, Delhi University.

While sharing an incident that led her to take UPSC as a career, she reportedly said that she was returning home in an autorickshaw. She was stopped by cops at the check post.

Garima had served as IPS officer in Uttar Pradesh, but her father wanted her to see an IAS officer to which she fulfilled. Garima is currently serving as an IAS officer in Jharkhand.

She believes in self study and suggests the UPSC aspirants to follow the same instead of running after coaching institutes.
