Every UPSC aspirant wants to clinch the most prestigious and toughest examination of the country. Lakhs of aspirants each year appear in these exams to fulfill their dream of becoming IAS, IPS or IFS officer, but only a few crack it. 

We are going to talk about an extraordinary student who not only did her graduation in dental surgery but cracked the UPSC exam by securing AIR-9 rank in 2020 exam. She topped the interview by obtaining 215 marks out of 275 marks. 

Meet-Apala Mishra. Despite a good rank in UPSC, she preferred IFS as her career choice instead of IAS.

Apala completed her graduation in dental surgery from Army College. She wanted to become a diplomat and this prompted her to begin preparation for UPSC exams. In 2020, she cracked the examination and got AIR 9 rank. She opted IFS and joined foreign service.

Apala’s father was a retired colonel from the Indian Army and her mother is a Professor at Delhi university. Apala’s brother is serving in the Indian Army as Major.
