Who is Divya Tanwar?

Divya was born in Nimbi, a small village in Mahendragarh district of Haryana state. She lost her father at a very young age. Divya’s mother, Babita Tanwar, worked as a labourer to support the family and her daughter’s education.

She completed her primary education from Navodaya Vidyalaya and earned a B.Sc. degree from Government Women’s College, Mahendragarh. After completing her graduation, Divya decided to prepare for UPSC. In 2021, at the age of 21, she appeared in the UPSC exam for the first time, achieving a rank of 438 and becoming the youngest IPS officer.

Fulfilled Dream of Becoming IAS

Divya turned heads as India’s youngest IPS officer, but she had her sight set on becoming an IAS officer. Not letting her achievement slow her down, she reappeared in UPSC exams the very next year. Scoring an impressive rank of 105, her dream of joining the IAS was finally realized.
