Mumbai: In a piece of great news for Mumbai Metro commuters, the Metropolitan Metropolitan Metro Officials (MMMOCL) has declared a 10% discount in ticket prices for travellers on Metro line 2A and line 7, on May 20th, which is the day on which the ‘Maya nagri’ will go to vote.

According to a statement by MMMOCL, passengers traveling on Metro line 2A and 7 on the polling day, May 20 will benefit from this discount. Also, commuters using Mumbai One cards, paper QR and paper tickets to reach polling stations can avail of a 10 percent discount on the base fare on their return journey as well.

On May 20th, the bustling city of Mumbai is set to go to the polls for six key positions. Eknath Shinde, leading the Shiv Sena alongside Uddhav Thackeray, will vie for victory in three of these seats and in the remaining three, two will witness tough competition between the BJP and the Congress, while the last one will have the Shiv Sena and BJP making it tough for the voters.

Mumbai To Witness High Sea Waves Till Sunday Night, BMC Issues Advisory

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) issued an advisory on Saturday cautioning people against entering the Arabian Sea amid warnings about high tide until Sunday night.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and Indian National Centre for Ocean Information (INCOIS), the sea will witness a “swell of surge waves” from 11.30 am on Saturday to 11.30 pm on Sunday, the civic body said.

During this time, the height of the waves will rise by 0.5 to 1.5 metres, it said. The BMC has also asked fishermen to exercise caution. BMC commissioner Bhushan Gagarin has asked civic personnel to coordinate with the police, and security guards at beaches in the city have been directed to stop people from entering the waters.
