Michael Kors has promoted Anne Walsh to the role of president, North America retail, effective April 1.
She will report to Cedric Wilmotte, chief executive officer of Michael Kors.
Walsh succeeds Jaryn Bloom, group president of North America retail, who leaves the luxury fashion brand after 18 years.
Bloom will work with the Michael Kors North America team through June to ensure a smooth transition.
Walsh joined Michael Kors some ten years ago, and has been involved in building the MIchael Kors U.S. retail business since her arrival. Most recently, she lead the U.S. retail merchandising strategies across all channels, as senior vice president, merchandising, North America retail.
“I am confident that Anne’s drive, enthusiasm and deep understanding of our business will allow us to continue to drive our retail strategy forward,” said Wilmotte.
Coinciding with the news, Debra Margles, president of Michael Kors Canada, is leaving the company at the end of March after almost 20 years. A replacement was not announced.
“Debra has been integral in establishing the Michael Kors brand in Canada and building the substantial business we have today,” added Wilmotte.
“Her energy, passion for people and drive for results are admirable qualities that have had a lasting impact on our business and our Canadian team. Both Jaryn and Debra have been an instrumental part of the business and will be greatly missed.”
In its most recent trading update, parent company Capri Holdings announced revenues fell 5.6% to $1.43 billion for the third quarter, with retail segment sales hurt by softening luxury consumer demand primarily in the Americas.
