Millie Bobby Brown’s Calming Skin Care Routine and Date-Night Glam

Millie Bobby Brown is in tune with her skin’s mood. Before she applies a scrap of makeup, the British actress soothes anything on her face that she deems “a little bit angry.” Once her complexion is nice and mellow, Brown can make use of the makeup skills she started mastering as a tween. Come with us as the Stranger Things star breaks down her calming skin care routine and date-night makeup look.

To keep acne and redness at bay, Brown washes with iS Clinical Cleansing Complex, followed by the brand’s Hydra-Cool Serum. She uses iS Clinical’s Pro-Heal Serum to not only soothe her skin but to create a perfectly dewy makeup base.

“I learned to do my own makeup going on YouTube and searching out makeup tutorials. I was, like, 12, and I just watched people do their makeup for hours,” she says. Now 20, the red-carpet regular has her routine down pat, and it starts with applying L’Oréal foundation and NARS concealer. As she dots creamy camouflage onto her chin, Brown reveals that her fiancé, Jake Bongiovi, appreciates a good touchup too. “Jake loves it when I put concealer on him,” she purrs.

As she applies Chanel’s Les Beiges bronzer—the smell of which she happens to love—the Florence by Mills founder remembers an early beauty muse. “When I would watch my grandma do her makeup in the morning, I loved the smell of her lipstick,” she says. “Eighty years into her life, she knew how she liked to do her makeup. I love that.”

She also loves Charlotte Tilbury’s Matte Beauty Blush Wand, which comes as a revelation to her. For years, “I hated blush,” she says. “When I was young I was like, I want to look older! Put bronzer on me. But now, I love blush again! Woo hoo!”

Brown’s natural brows leave her less elated. “My mom gave me a good spirit and a good attitude, but no eyebrows,” she deadpans. “I’m sad about that.” However, she’s mastered a three-step routine to make her brows more prominent. After brushing them out and filling them in with a pencil, she swipes on a top coat of Charlotte Tilbury’s clear gel. With her eyebrows duly enhanced, Brown dusts her lids with a chocolatey Charlotte Tilbury shadow, then rims her lashline with Florence by Mills liner in “Call Time.” I named all of the liners after the process of filming,” she says. When she’s not in front of the camera, Brown’s been known to moonlight as a makeup artist for her costars. “I brought in Florence products to set on Damsel,” she says. “I definitely put eye gels on Nick Robinson, and I think he liked it.”
