Moncler is putting the Grenoble line centre-stage. The Italian luxury down jacket label will celebrate its high-tech performance line with a runway show, an “exclusive” Alpine-themed event for the Fall/Winter 2024 season that will be held on February 3, with the pristine mountains of the chic Swiss ski resort of St. Moritz as its backdrop.
Without giving any further details, Moncler simply stated in a brief communiqué that “the show will be inspired by the twin soul of Moncler Grenoble, in which performance and design reach their highest expression,” adding that “the show will bring together the label’s community for an outdoor experience in the purest Moncler style.”
The event’s announcement has coincided with the recent opening in St. Moritz of Moncler’s first store exclusively dedicated to the Grenoble line. Moncler Grenoble was launched in 2010 and is inspired by the world of Alpine pursuits, featuring skiing apparel and accessories inspired by iconic vintage looks that have made Moncler famous. Moncler notably outfitted French Olympic champion Jean-Claude Killy and his team mates at the 1968 Grenoble Winter Olympics, hence the line’s name.
Last year, the group said it is keen to boost this high-tech performance line targeting “active Millennials” (30 to 40-year-olds), which is available throughout the year and includes a summer range too. Grenoble is designed to diversify the label’s range, alongside its main line, Moncler Collection, and the more creative looks by Moncler Genius.
Moncler staged its most recent show-events in 2022, to celebrate its 70th anniversary.
