News of a devastating inferno at a luxury home on Hope Island was revealed to be the house Fraser was living at.
Commentator Neil Crompton shared the shocking news minutes before Bathurst was due to start.
“When (Heimgartner) was out there doing his Top-10 Shootout, (Fraser’s) house burnt down,” Crompton said.
“He’s lost everything.
“His dad spoke to me this morning. He’s asked because all his trophies are gone, he had success in Super 2, he’s asked how might we be able to be in a position to buy or replicate it.
“He hasn’t even got clothes.”
Details of the inferno came to light on Saturday.
A family of three escaped the blaze unharmed, but the house was destroyed.
“Witnesses have told us the owner was working on his motorbike before the house went up in flames,” 7NEWS Gold Coast’s Paige Van Lunteren said.
“They didn’t have time to grab anything except for their two dogs and two gas cylinders.”
Gold Coast fire department’s Mark Walding added, “It’s been gutted basically, so the house will have to be pulled down totally and rebuilt.”
Fraser is a co-driver at this year’s Bathurst after a tough debut Supercars season with Trickford Racing last year.
The 24-year-old, who won the Super2 Series championship in 2022, was left without a ride as Trickford went from four cars to two.
He is competing for Triple Eight in the GT World Challenge Australia this year.
