Mortal Kombat 1 Omni-Man release time, launch date and gameplay | Gaming | Entertainment

Mortal Kombat 1 fans are counting down to the release of Omni-Man, the game’s first post-release character. Famous for appearing in the Invincibles, the comic book superhero is the first of six new playable characters joining the MK1 roster. Omni-Man has a November 9 release date for anybody who owns the MK1: Kombat Pack 1 DLC. There’s no official launch time, but UK fans can expect the character to drop at some point in the afternoon. If you don’t want to purchase the entire Kombat Pack, Omni-Man will be available as a standalone release on November 16.

Omni-Man will be followed by Kameo character Tremor, who makes his debut on November 20.

As for Omni-Man, the new fighter is described as a “rushdown character that revolves around speed and power”.

That’s according to NetherRealm design manager Nick Nicastro, who previewed Omni-Man on the Xbox Wire website.

“One of his go-to special moves that I think embodies him the best is his Viltrumite stance,” Nicastro explains.

“From the ground or air, Omni-Man goes into a confident pose where the player can execute four unique attacks each serving a specific purpose.

“This both serves a mind game for the player and a way for Omni-Man to surprise the opponent and secure significant damage as most of these attacks will allow him to follow up with more moves.”

Omni-Man’s Viltrumite stance also gives him the ability to avoid projectiles, while the enhanced version of the stance lets him dodge medium and high attacks from up close.

One of his Fatalities, meanwhile, is based on a scene from The Invincibles, while also paying homage to Mortal Kombat 3.

Priced at a whopping £34.99, the Kombat Pack will also add classic Mortal Kombat characters like Quan Chi, Ermac and Takahashi Takeda.

That’s on top of crossover fighters including DC’s Peacemaker and Homelander from The Boys.

Kameo characters joining Tremor include Mavado, Johnny Cage, Ferra and Khameleon.
