Motorcycle Rider Records Himself Traveling 55 Miles In 20 Minutes

A Texas motorcycle rider is wanted by the Colorado State Patrol after a recklessly fast trip up Interstate 25 in Colorado that he recorded and posted on YouTube. While I can’t publicly support anyone going nearly three times the speed limit, I do have some advice for those that do: don’t publicly share evidence of your alleged crimes if you want to continue enjoying the freedom of the road.

Rendon Dietzmann, also known as Gixxer brah on YouTube, shared footage of himself hurdling down I-25 at speeds approaching 180 miles per hour. He can be seen blasting past a car stopped on the shoulder and lane splitting like an action movie protagonist. KKTV reported that Dietzmann covered 55 miles from Colorado Springs to the southern portion of Denver in just 20 minutes. The video posted on October 2 last year has since been removed by the popular platform for violating its community guidelines after accumulating over 500,000 views.

Dietzmann has more than just a website moderator on his case. The Colorado State Patrol has a warrant for his arrest on multiple charges: menacing, engaging in a speed contest, reckless endangerment, reckless driving, speeding 40 mph over prima facie limit, engaging in an exhibition of speed, and the vehicle had no number plates attached. Sergeant Troy Kessler from the Colorado State Patrol’s Public Affairs Office stated to the Associated Press:

“This is an extreme example, but sadly a real one. If you drive like this, you can expect to be arrested when you are located. This is the best outcome for a person who drives violently since the smallest mistake could result in his death or that of an innocent person in the area.”

While it might seem like an exhilarating experience, riders hitting triple-digit speeds are putting themselves and others at incredible risk. One wrong move could seriously injure or kill someone just trying to go about their business. If you have a need for speed, get it on the track.
