MS Dhoni is the only captain after Rohit Sharma to win the Indian Premier League five times with a single franchise – Chennai Super Kings.
New Delhi: If there is one cricketer whose fandom is unmatched, it has to be MS Dhoni as the former India captain’s craze hits an all-new high every time. At 42, Dhoni is probably playing his last IPL, but the fan’s love for the two-time World Cup-winning Indian legend is unmatchable. Recently, a man, probably in his forties, claimed to buy tickets for a staggering Rs 64000 just to watch his favourite idol play at the Chepauk stadium against Kolkata Knight Riders. He is yet to pay his three daughters’ school fees, the video of which went viral on social media.
In the video, the man came to watch Dhoni play along with his three daughters, all wearing CSK jerseys. “I didn’t get the tickets, so I bought them in black. It was a total of Rs. 64,000. I am yet to pay the school fees. But we wanted to see MS Dhoni just once,” said the man. However, India.com couldn’t confirm the authenticity of his statements.
I don’t have money to pay the School Fees of my children, but spent Rs 64,000 to get black tickets to watch Dhoni, says this father. I am at a loss for words to describe this stupidity. pic.twitter.com/korSgfxcUy

However, his sacrifice didn’t go waste as CSK defeated KKR comfortably on the day to register their third win in five matches. One of the man’s daughters also thanked his father for the hard work he put in to manage the wickets for the game. “My father has worked very hard to get these tickets. We were very happy when Dhoni came to play,” the daughter.
Meanwhile, Dhoni, who led CSK to their fifth IPL title last year, passed on the baton to young Ruturaj Gaikwad just one day before the IPL 2024 began.
