Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries backed Addverb plans to launch India’s first humanoid robot by 2025
Addverb Technologies, a robotics firm based in Noida and backed by Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries, is set to revolutionize India’s robotics industry. The company has announced plans to launch AI-powered humanoid robots by 2025, targeting sectors like retail, energy, and fashion. This ambitious initiative marks India’s entry into the global humanoid robotics market, setting the stage for competition with international giants like Tesla, Boston Dynamics, and Agility Robotics.
India’s Entry Into Humanoid Robotics
Addverb’s humanoid robots are designed to handle “3D” jobs while improving efficiency and safety in human-robot interactions. According to Sangeet Kumar, Co-founder and CEO of Addverb, the robots will feature cutting-edge GPU technology, energy-efficient actuators, and dual-arm capabilities.
The humanoids will also leverage Reliance’s Jio AI platform and 5G network, enabling advanced navigation in dynamic environments using Visual and Language Action (VLA) technology. This technological synergy ensures the robots are equipped to autonomously adapt to complex industrial setups.
Addverb Global Competition
Addverb’s humanoids are being developed as affordable alternatives to competitors like Tesla’s Optimus robots, with an estimated price range of $20,000-$25,000. While funding challenges are anticipated, Kumar expressed confidence in competing with global players, including Chinese companies benefiting from government subsidies.
The company also plans to create a broader business ecosystem around this initiative, similar to its successful warehouse automation projects. This ecosystem is expected to drive innovation and support the growth of humanoid applications across various industries.
Milestone In Indian Innovation
The launch of Addverb’s humanoid robots highlights India’s growing emphasis on robotics and technological innovation. With an impressive client list that includes Hindustan Unilever, Reliance, and PepsiCo, Addverb is well-positioned to capitalize on the demand for advanced robotics solutions both in India and internationally.
This project aligns with India’s “Make in India” initiative and aims to enhance the country’s robot density while transforming industrial operations globally. As Addverb gears up for the 2025 launch, it represents a significant leap forward in India’s journey to becoming a global robotics powerhouse.
