Anil Ambani’s Reliance Infrastructure is all set to make its presence in the realm of electric vehicles and the company has roped in former BYD executive Sanjay Gopalkrishnan as consultant to have his valuable suggestions in manufacturing the car and batteries.

It may surprise you as a reader but the reports have suggested that Asia’s richest man Mukesh Ambani would soon get competition in the electric vehicle (EV) market from his younger brother, Anil Ambani. 

Anil Ambani’s Reliance Infrastructure is all set to make its presence in the realm of electric vehicles and the company has roped in former BYD executive Sanjay Gopalkrishnan as consultant to have his valuable suggestions in manufacturing the car and batteries. 

It will be quite interesting to witness that both brothers will vie with each other in the segment. 

As per Reuters reports, Reliance Infrastructure is trying to learn the initial investment cost for an EV plant as it is planning to come up with 250,000 cars. Similarly, The company is exploring the possibility of a battery manufacturing plant of 10 GWh capacity. 

The company has yet not corroborated the developments, but its shares witnessed an unprecedented  jump by 2 percent. 

The market experts said that it would be interesting to watch Mukesh Ambani’s firm Reliance Industries  in competition with Reliance Infrastructure if the company goes as per plan in the EV segment. 

Reliance Infrastructure has created two subsidiaries while targeting the manufacturing needs of components. 

The reports suggest that only 4.2 million EV cars were sold out last year and the government is targeting to raise it to 30% by 2030.
