It looks like the mystery surrounding the actor who played Dewey in Malcolm in the Middle has been solved after a star from the show has revealed his whereabouts.
When it comes to Erik Per Sullivan, aka Dewey Cleaver, it seems like the odd mystery of his whereabouts has gone on for the best part of a decade.
The 2000s TV star has been as ‘off-the-grid’ as you can get, with almost nobody knowing where he is, or what he’s been doing.
Malcolm in the Middle wrapped their final season in May 2006, but the American series still remains a cult classic – the series follows Malcolm (Frankie Muniz), the middle child in the chaotic and eccentric Cleaver family.

Malcolm has four siblings in the show, and is the older brother to Dewey, a true fan favourite.
Despite this, the world has been wondering about Sullivan, and how he’s been getting on since the show’s finale.
Now 33, the Dewey actor has stayed out of the limelight, though an Instagram account in his name was created in April 2020, which many believe to be the man himself.
In the bio, it details that he’s a ‘movie and tv actor’, his birthday is in July 1991 and a mention of the state of Massachusetts, where Sullivan was born.
One post on the social media page shows Sullivan on the Malcolm in the Middle set, captioning it: “Unforgettable moments as dewey in the tv series malcolm in the middle,” to his 73,000 followers.
So if it is him, he seems quite proud and treasures his time on the show.

The actor has also made a video for a fan in the past, one of his rare ‘public’ appearances in recent times.
His last acting credit was in the 2010 film Twelve alongside 50 Cent, Chace Crawford, Rory Caulkin and Emma Roberts.
But, it turns out that fellow Malcolm in the Middle star Jane Kaczmarek, who played the boys’ hot-headed mother Lois, finally lifted the lid on Sullivan’s life, revealing to Malcolm France that he is doing ‘very well’.
“He’s well, he’s very, very well,” she revealed. “He did Malcolm for seven years, he started at seven, he ended at 14. He wasn’t interested in acting, at all.
“He goes to school at a very prestigious American University that he’s asked us all to be quiet about and he loves Charles Dickens.
“He’s doing graduate work in Victorian literature. I admire it because so many people think being in show-business is the greatest thing in the world, it’s not for everyone.”
Star of the sitcom Malcolm (Muniz) himself previously revealed that he had no idea what his on-screen brother was doing.

“To be honest, I don’t know what he’s up to,” he said. “I hate to say that because I’ve talked to him a few times since the show ended.
“I’ve talked to his parents a lot. When I was in the band, we went and played in the city where he lives and his parents came to the show but unfortunately he couldn’t make it.
“So I got to talk to them, and he’s been all over doing a lot of different things.
“But one thing I know, some actors or some people just got to do it when they were a kid and then they wanted to experience other things and kind of live a more normal life out of the spotlight.”
“I think that’s what he wanted to do so good for him,” Muniz concluded.
