Vande Bharat: The Indian Railways is all set to launch the third variant of the Vande Bharat Sleeper in January 2025. This comes after the massive success of Vande Bharat Express which transformed the rail journey in the country. According to the reports, the Vande Bharat Sleeper will cover longer distances and overnight journeys. Manufactured by BEML, prototype of such a train was unveiled by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in September 2024.
Jammu and Kashmir is also likely to introduce the Vande Bharat Sleeper trainset as the national transporter is working on a proposal. The train will run between New Delhi and Srinagar. It will be maintained and operated by the Northern Railway (NR) zone.
Taking to ETNOW.in, a senior railway official said, “The train will connect the national capital with the capital of Jammu and Kashmir.” It is also expected that the train would later be extended to Baramulla.
