The new electric Cooper EV will be available in two variants: a base Cooper E and a higher-spec Cooper SE.
The electric Cooper continues to feature a minimalist exterior design approach, highlighted by circular LED headlamps (without bezels), an octagonal front grille with blanked out surfaces, and fresh tail lights. Additionally, the vehicles showcase sleek flush door handles, while eliminating wheel arch cladding and chrome accents.
Talking about the powertrain on offer with the premium electric hatchback, the top-spec variant is powered by a 54.2kWh battery pack that offers a claimed range of 402 km on a single charge. The electric motor produces 218 hp and 330 Nm of torque, which propels the car from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.7 seconds.

On the other hand, the base E variant has a 184 hp, 290 Nm front-mounted motor and a 40.7kWh battery, giving it a claimed range of 305km.
Speaking of the interiors, this electric hatchback features a 9.4-inch circular touchscreen infotainment system while it misses out an instrument cluster to keep the interiors minimalist.
Mini India can be expected to launch the new-gen Cooper EV in India in 2024. At present, the outgoing Cooper SE is already on sale in India, offered at a starting price of Rs 53.50 lakh, ex-showroom. Upon launch, the new-gen Cooper EV won’t have any competition as it is likely to sit in a category of its own like the current-gen model, and also the ICE variants.
