2023 Nexon.ev: Design
Talking about the design, the new Nexon. ev has taken inspiration from the Curvv concept and looks very similar to the ICE Nexon. It gets trapezoidal headlamp housings with split LED headlights and sequential LED DRLs. It also gets a full-width thin LED light bar that runs across the nose. Below it gets a faux-silver skid plate with a sleek grille.

The silhouette of the EV remains largely the same as before but it now gets newly designed aerodynamically optimised 16-inch alloy wheels wrapped up in EV-specific tyres. Moving rear, it looks identical to the ICE Nexon facelift with connected LED tail-lamps, integrated roof spoiler, reflectors on both sides of the bumper and a ‘.ev’ badge.

2023 Nexon.ev: Interior and features
Moving inside, the interior of the Nexon.ev gets the same dashboard layout as the ICE Nexon facelift. It features layered design with lots of piano black materials. It gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment with new Ui and rotary dial has been replaced with a traditional gear lever. Other new features include two-spoke illuminated steering wheel, touch-based HVAC controls with automatic climate control, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, air purifier, fast charging type-C ports, 360-degree camera, V2V (vehicle to vehicle) and V2L (vehicle to load).

Other features such as single-pane sunroof, premium sound system, voice commands, OTA updates and much more have been carried forward. Tata Motors has also introduced a new Arcade.ev app suite that lets you stream OTT platforms.
2023 Nexon.ev: Safety and variants
Safety features in the 2023 Nexon.ev includes six airbags, ABS, ESC and TCS, front parking sensors, blind view monitor, three-point seat belts for all seats, ISOFIX mounts, hill descent and ascent control, all-wheel disc brakes, panic brake alert as well as emergency and breakdown call assist.

The new Nexon.ev will be available in two main variants – Medium Range (MR) and Long Range (LR).
2023 Nexon.ev: Powertrain, Battery and Range
As mentioned previously, the Nexon.ev gets two variants – Medium Range (MR) and Long Range (LR). The Medium Range (MR) gets a 30 kWh battery pack paired with Gen-2 permanent magnet synchronous motor which puts out 129hp and 215Nm of torque. It has a claimed range of 325km and the battery can be charged from 10 to 100 percent in 4.3 hours using a 7.2kW AC charger that comes as standard.

The Long Range (LR) gets a 40.5kWh battery pack paired with a Gen-2 permanent magnet synchronous motor which puts out 145hp and 215Nm of torque. It has a claimed range of 465km and the battery can be charged from 10 to 100 percent in 6 hours using a 7.2kW AC charger that comes as standard. Using a DC fast charger, both Medium Range (MR) and Long Range (LR) can be charged in 56 minutes.

The prices for the new Nexon.ev will be announced on September 14. The price for the outgoing Nexon starts from Rs 14.49 lakh and goes up to 19.54 lakh (both prices ex-showroom). With added features and mechanical upgrades we expect the prices to start from Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom). When launched, the Nexon.ev competes with the Mahindra XUV 400, MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona.
