Nicholas Galitzine, Zhang Ruoyun Front Fendi Men’s Fall Campaign

GOING BOLD ON MEN’S: British actor Nicholas Galitzine and Chinese thespian Zhang Ruoyun are appearing worldwide in Fendi‘s fall 2024 men’s campaign slated to drop Friday. 

Galitzine became the brand’s first global menswear ambassador in 2023 and already fronted the fall 2023 men’s campaign. He attended both Fendi’s Baguette 25th anniversary show in New York in September 2022 and its men’s fall 2023 runway show in Milan last January. Ruoyun, who also has taken on the role of global menswear ambassador, was previously named as Fendi’s spokesperson for leather goods in China in 2021. He was also seen sitting front row at the latest Fendi men’s show in Milan.

In the fall 2024 images, photographed and directed by Italian artist Nico Vascellari, Galitzine and Ruoyun pose in a metallic and geometric set with transparent glass structures, reminiscent of the brand’s men’s fall 2024 show in January, also conceived by Vascellari. 

Galitzine, who wore a custom look by Silvia Venturini Fendi to the 2024 Met Gala, said, “The shoot felt relaxed because I’m so comfortable with Silvia [Venturini Fendi] and the whole team. It feels more like play than work. It’s been a joy to be part of the Fendi family. The highlight of my year in fashion was getting to wear that beautiful, custom Fendi tux to the Met Ball. It was my first time being invited and I felt deeply honored to represent Fendi.”

The eight single and five double-page visuals highlight the fall collection, which includes long pleated shorts worn with leather Wellingtons and hiking socks. Outerwear is adorned with Selleria leather collars in contrast with suede “corduroy” along with fisherman’s coats and waterproof wax jackets in FF canvas. Knitwear is color-blocked and FF brooches by artistic director of jewelry Delfina Delettrez Fendi are featured on the evening suits. In addition, there will be a video and visuals for the eyewear collection.

Accessories have a big role too. Special pieces from the season’s collaborations are displayed such as the Peekaboo ISeeU bag and Fendi Mad futuristic sneakers designed with the Beijing, Los Angeles and Rome-based architecture studio MAD Architects founded by architect Ma Yansong. The FF monogrammed Fendi x Devialet Mania portable handheld speaker realized in partnership with French Devialet also appears in the images.

The collection will be available at the brand’s boutiques and on the brand’s website starting from July 18.

Both actors have several professional projects planned for the future. Galitzine, who recently performed in “The Idea of You” alongside Anne Hathaway and in the Sky series “Mary & George” with Julianne Moore, will next appear as the male lead in Amazon MGM and Mattel’s live action “Masters of the Universe” directed by Travis Knight. He will also be seen in Amazon MGM’s comedy based on the novel “Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective” with Hugh Jackman, Emma Thompson, Nicholas Braun and Molly Gordon. 

Ruoyun’s most famous works include “Qing Yu Nian,” “Sword, Snow, Stride,” “Ordinary Greatness” and “The Hope” and he next will appear in “Evacuate From the 21st Century” to be released this summer.
