Nima Momeni’s sister arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run, police say

Khazar Momeni, 38, who also goes by Khazar Elyassnia, was detained and booked at the SF County Jail after police received a report of a vehicle collision at Geary and Larkin streets just after 11 a.m. on Monday, Sgt. Kathryn Winters, a spokesperson for the SF Police Department, wrote in an email. After responding to the scene, officers located Momeni and spoke with witnesses, Winters said.

“In the course of their investigation, officers developed probable cause to determine that the driver of the vehicle was driving under the influence,” Winters wrote.

Momeni could face multiple charges, including driving under the influence, two counts of hit-and-run, one count of failure to drive in a lane, and another count of failure to provide proof of insurance at the scene of a collision. SFPD did not provide details on the circumstances of the vehicle collision or the hit-and-run.

A witness overheard Nima Momeni confront Lee about “whether his sister was doing drugs or anything inappropriate,” according to charging papers.
