DUBAI: Nintendo is going to make waking up early fun for gamers as the Japanese company prepares to launch an interactive alarm clock that features sounds and characters from its renowned titles such as ‘Super Mario Odyssey’ and The Legend of Zelda.’

Priced at approximately 14,889¥, the alarm clock is designed in Nintendo’s red shade and responds to users’ gestures. The product, titled ‘Alarmo,’ is expected to launch at the beginning of 2025.

When setting the alarm, users can pick one scenery, out of 35, from five games, which are: ‘Breath of the Wild’; ‘Pikmin 4′; Splatoon 3’; ‘Super Mario Odyssey’; and ‘Ring Fit Adventure’.

The built-in WiFi that comes with an alarm can be used to download scenes from other video games, which will be available in future updates such as ‘Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’ and ‘Animal Crossing: New Horizons’.

Before the alarm goes off, a character from the game chosen will appear on the screen. Once the alarm goes off, gentle sounds from the game will start playing and will gradually become louder if the person snoozes.

To turn off the alarm, a character from the game will visit, which must be interacted with physically through waving or moving. Depending on the game chosen, sounds of coins or familiar game objects might be heard to signal that the alarm has successfully turned off. If a traditional experience is preferred, Nintendo fans can switch to Button Mode, which will allow them to turn off the alarm using a button.

Moreover, the alarm will also be equipped with a sleep tracker that will calculate how much time was spent in bed and the amount of movements that took place during the sleep cycle.
