The Delhi-based app developer gained attention on social media due to his demand. He hopes to fund his higher studies by selling the domain to Reliance Industries, especially after the merger between Viacom 18 and Disney India. The techie stated that he wants to avoid a legal battle with Asia’s richest man and is hopeful that a compassionate stance will be taken.
The news agency PTI sent a query on mail @Jiohotstar, the ID mentioned on the viral post, the anonymous techie said: “I haven’t received any reply and proposal from Reliance”.
“I don’t think they intend to pay in my case as well. I would be extremely happy if they do,” he said in the reply.
A large number of legal experts believe that he has a ‘winnable case’ and that there is a fair chance of obtaining even greater compensation.
The techie stated that he has no interest in taking the matter to court, as fighting a legal case against a battery of lawyers would be a punishment in a country like India.
