Rajkot: While there are so many rumours doing the rounds as to why the squad for the remaining three Tests versus England is yet to announced, latest reports confirm Virat Kohli’s availability – like one must have thought – is not the reason for the delay. A report in Sports Tak suggests that the delay in announcement of the Indian squad is taking place because of the fitness of KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja.
Both Rahul and Jadeja are expected to return to the squad after having missed out on the previous game at Vizag. As per the same report, the squad for the remaining Tests would be announced today after a BCCI meet.
Not just Kohli, there are doubts over World No. 1 pacer Jasprit Bumrah’s availability as well. There were reports that he could be rested looking at the workload management. But the latest is that, the management has left it to the player to decide whether he wants to play the third Test. The Indian cricketers have got more than 10 days’ break before the Rajkot Test gets underway.
England team is currently in Abu Dhabi spending time with their families as the visitors camped in Abu Dhabi ahead of the series and will fly back to the city on Wednesday.
Team India will assemble in Rajkot on February 12 and will have their first training session the next day ahead of the third Test vs England which gets underway on February 15.
