Oakland got an FBI subpoena. Here’s what you need to know about records supposed to be turned over today

OAKLAND — Three weeks after a series of FBI raids threw Oakland into a political frenzy, city officials had been expected Thursday morning to begin handing over numerous records to authorities at the federal courthouse after being ordered to do so by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

They never actually made the trip: In an email Thursday morning, a spokesperson for Oakland City Attorney Barbara Parker said producing the wide range of documents would “take weeks or months to complete.” The spokesperson noted that city officials were working “in cooperation with the federal government.”
