Oceanus Swimwear Launches Bespoke Service

LONDON — Recognized for its multicolored palette and hand-embroidery that nods to ‘80s opulence, Oceanus has launched a bespoke service allowing customers the opportunity to embroider artwork of their choice onto their swimwear or clothing.

“I feel like it’s a really personal process which we love,” said Hannah Attalah, Oceanus’ founder and creative director, in an interview.

Mirroring the process of demi-couture, customers are given full creative input at every step of their bejeweled piece’s creation, which begins with a one-to-one consultation.

“As we’re in the digital era, I feel like a lot of connection is being lost. It’s so nice to be closer with our community again and to be able to design really special pieces for memorable occasions,” Attalah said.

The bespoke offering comes on the heels of the brand’s first ready-to-wear collection, which launched late last year, as WWD reported.

Attalah said the reception of ready-to-wear had been overwhelmingly positive.

“It’s been going really well, ready-to-wear has been more popular than swimwear right now. We’re really happy and we’re going to be expanding even more in this area,” she added.

The designer teased that Oceanus is expanding its jewelry line and is scaling the brand’s existing presence in Bali, where it already has one storefront.

Attalah also hinted at the release of a new footwear line that’s due in the next six months.
