I never thought I’d see the words “Jennifer Lopez” and “coquette” in the same sentence, but here we are! In 2024, anything is possible. Though Lopez’s usual style is more sleek chic than ribbons and ruffles, she let her whimsical side out at Paris Fashion Week and TBH, I think she may have done the bow trend better than anyone.
Lopez attended the Elie Saab Haute Couture show on January 24 in her new short, flippy bob cut, but she didn’t style it wet like she did at the Schiaparelli show. She did a total 180 with her styling from show to show, opting instead for a soft wave near the front of her face. But it was what was going on on the other side of her head that I truly couldn’t look away from, because it felt so surprising for Lopez: a big green bow.
Lopez does experiment with different hairstyles for red carpets and events, but she’s best known for her signature sleek buns and glamour-girl waves. The bow is a total departure from what we typically see from the star, and that’s what makes it so magical. Lopez’s hair was parted dramatically to one side, with the forest green velvet bow placed precisely at the crown of her head. The long ribbon trailed all the way down to the ends of her hair, almost blending into her textured purple and green coat and matching green dress. How dreamy!
