Off-White, Ronald van der Kemp and Toteme will all make American runways debuts according to the just released official NYFW show schedule, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, the industry’s governing body, announced Monday.
The CFDA released the “preliminary” New York Fashion Week (NYFW) schedule for the spring/summer 2025 runway season on Monday, with a total of 61 shows listed in the six-day season.
“The CFDA is delighted to welcome international guests Off-White, Ronald van der Kemp and Toteme to the official NYFW schedule, holding their first-ever collection showcases in New York city. First-time additions to the official NYFW schedule include Advisry, Campillo, Michael Fausto, Salon 1884 and TWP,” the CFDA underlined in a release.
Area will formally kick off the American collections on Friday, September 6, a day that will close with the most happening designer in New York Willy Chavarria. While the 2023 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner Melitta Baumeister will close the week on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
The bumper-packed week will also include such stellar names as Brandon Maxwell, Carolina Herrera, Coach, Khaite, LaQuan Smith, Michael Kors, Phillip Lim, Tory Burch, Ulla Johnson and Tory Burch.
One evening slot on Sunday at 6.30pm has been listed as “to be announced”, suggesting that it may well be taken up by uber label Tommy Hilfiger. Ralph Lauren and Proenza Schouler “will show their collections in the leadup to season,” the CFDA noted.
Additionally, there will be 10 mini-show presentations by menswear designers on the opening day; and some 15 by-appointment presentations by designers, as diverse as Hervé, Veronia Beard and Delpozo. Further collections will be presented digitally.
The season also marks the return of Cos, Cynthia Rowley, Simkhai and Who Decides War to New York catwalks.
This season marks the milestone 20th anniversary of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, and current finalist brands 5000, Grace Ling, Kate Barton, Jane Wade, Presley Oldham, Sebastien Ami, and Wiederhoeft will unveil their new collections during the week.
Since acquiring Fashion Calendar in October 2014, the CFDA has served as the sole organizer of the official NYFW schedule. Originally founded in 1945 by publisher Ruth Finley, the now-digital Fashion Calendar serves as the foremost year-round events scheduling and planning tool for fashion designers, press, retailers, public relation firms, and the industry at large.
