Olympic Games Paris 2024: Day 13 highlights, schedule

It’s down to crunch time in Canada’s bid to set a record for most medals won at a non-boycotted Summer Olympics.

With four days left at Paris 2024, Canada has 19 medals — five back of the record set three years ago in Tokyo. It could be very close.

Here’s a look at the Day 13 highlights, and the full event schedule.

2024 Paris Olympics on Sportsnet

Canada will be going for gold at the Paris Games from July 26 to Aug. 11. Catch Olympic action on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+ and follow along with all our coverage.

Skylar Park (women’s taekwondo, 57-kg round of 16, 3:09 a.m.)

The Winnipeg native battles Dominika Hronova of Czechia to kick off the all-day competition. Park is the No. 4 seed.

Sarah Mitton (women’s shot put qualifying, 4:25 a.m.)

The Nova Scotian won silver in this event at last year’s world championships

Alena Sharp and Brooke Henderson (women’s golf Round 2, 4:33 a.m., 6:06 a.m.)

Sharp is one stroke out of third, while Henderson is four back of third heading into the second round of the 54-hole event.

Canadian men’s 4×100-metre track relay team (Round 1, 5:35 a.m.)

Canada took Olympic silver in this event three years ago in Tokyo. The Canadians also were second in May at the World Athletics Relays.

Maude Charron (women’s weightlifting, 59-kg competition, 9 a.m.)

The Canadian won Olympic gold in Tokyo at 64 kg, but that weight class isn’t on the schedule in Paris. One of the country’s flag-bearers at the opening ceremony, Charron won bronze at this weight class at last year’s world championships.

Melissa Humana-Paredes and Brandie Wilkerson (women’s beach volleyball, semifinals, 11 a.m.)

The Canadians face the unbeaten Swiss pair of Nina Brunner and Tanja Huberli of Switzerland. Canada is looking for its first volleyball medal since 1996.

Lauriane Genest, Kelsey Mitchell (women’s keirin quarterfinals, semifinals and finals, 11:18 a.m.)

The Canadians both won medals in track cycling in Tokyo. Genest did it in this event, taking bronze

U.S. men’s basketball team (semifinal, vs. Serbia, 3 p.m.)

Can Nikola Jokic and Serbia give the powerful Americans a scare? Serbia is riding the momentum of a huge comeback win against Australia in the quarterfinals.
