Oniverse’s product extension via fine food and wine with Signorvino

Oniverse, the fashion and lingerie group formerly known as Calzedonia Group, has a fresh product extension via fine food and wine – Signorvino in Paris.

Located in the Latin Quarter of the French capital, Signorvino is an airy three-storied building in buzzy Place St Michel, offering classic with a twist of Italian cuisine and a huge selection of Italian wines – from the affordable to the exceptional.

Recently renamed Oniverse, and founded by Sandro Veronesi in 1986, the group is a Verona-based company that includes such brands as Calzedonia, Intimissimi, Intimissimi Uomo, Tezenis, cashmere specialist Falconeri, Signorvino, Atelier Emé, and the highly inventive Sardinian designer Antonio Marras. Other brands within the group include Cantiere del Pardo, Grand Soleil, Pardo and Van Dutch.

So, its latest diversification means Oniverse’s luxury offer now extends from lingerie and fashion to cashmere and food and wine.

Boasting dining spaces for 160, Signorvino Paris is situated just a few steps from Notre-Dame Cathedral and follows on the heels of the Signorvino opening in Prague in November.

In effect, Signorvino is the latest expression of experiential branding in luxury, in the same spirit as Armani Caffè, Gucci Osteria and Restaurant Monsieur Dior inside the French mega brand’s avenue Montaigne flagship.

Signorvino’s menu includes classic starters like Culatello di Zebello or Polpette di Manzo; novel pastas like spaghetti cacio e pepe with gambero rosso tartare and Milanese veal chop served with a Gewurztraminer mayonnaise.

The enormous array of wines – over 2,000 references – vary from Primitivos priced around €25 to magnums of legendary Tuscan red Castelgiocondo for €549.

“We wanted to create a voyage into the heart of taste. Keeping our own original current suppliers, because we believe that the originality and authenticity of Italian cuisine is a key factor of success,” explained Signorvino’s head honcho Federico Veronesi, son of family patriarch Sandro.

Oniverse, a play on universe, also happens to be an anagram of Veronesi, and the suggestion that this group’s novel diversification can be expected to continue.
