The crossover everybody has been waiting for is here, as the world of Cowboy Bebop comes to Overwatch 2. The Overwatch 2 x Cowboy Bebop update has a March 12 release date and a 6pm GMT UK launch time on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. The new crossover event introduces characters from the famous anime. More accurately, Overwatch 2 heroes will be recast as characters from Cowboy Bebop.
In addition to Cowboy Bebop skins, fans will be able to unlock emotes, highlight intros and other rewards from the Japanese anime.
Blizzard explains more: “Launching in-game on March 12 on all platforms, players will be able to unlock Cowboy Bebop-inspired skins, emotes, highlight intros, and more for some of Overwatch 2’s most recognisable characters.
“Music from Cowboy Bebop will also be featured in Overwatch 2 as part of this event.”
According to Blizzard, unlockable skins include ‘Spike Spiegel Cassidy’, ‘Faye Valentine Ashe’, ‘Jet Black Mauga’ and ‘Ed Sombra’.
That’s on top of the ‘Ein Wreckingball’ skin, which is available as a free skin for all players.
Chances are the Cowboy Bebop event will be accompanied by a big new update, so keep checking back for all the patch notes.

Speaking of Overwatch 2 crossovers, developer Blizzard has announced plans to team up with car company Porsche in Season 10.
The new Overwatch x Porsche crossover includes a Legendary D.Va skin inspired by the all-new Macan Electric.
“D.Va is not only incredibly cool, but with her mech’s functional and immediately identifiable design, she felt like the perfect Hero to kick-off Overwatch 2’s next collaboration.
“And as a character in-universe, her love for engineering and constantly improving Tokki connected her right away with attention to detail and care of Porsche. We know you’ll love her new skin as much as we do!”
Overwatch 2 Season 10 is expected to launch next month.
