Pakistan ELIMINATED of T20 WC 2024

Florida: In what can be labelled as extremely unfortunate. Pakistan cricket team has been eliminated from the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 on Friday after the game between USA and Ireland was washed out. It is unfortunate because Pakistan is knocked out even before they play their last and final group game against Ireland on Sunday. While it is a sad story for Pakistan, hosts USA, on the other hand, qualified for the Super 8 stage after rain abandoned play.

Pakistan lost against USA in a close encounter and then they emerged best against India in a game that went down to the wire. Pakistan would believe they could have won both those games as they were in winning positions.

Hosts USA qualifying for the Super 8s is the seventh instance of an associate team progressing from the group stage to the Super stage in World Cups. Ireland did it first in 2009, and then Netherlands did it in 2014 before Afghanistan (2016), Namibia (2021), Scotland (2021) and the Netherlands (2022).

Pakistan will conclude their group stage on Sunday against Ireland in Florida. One would imagine Pakistan did not play with the right intent that that led to their downfall. The bowling but upto the mark, but it was the batting that let them down.

Pakistan: Babar Azam (c), Abrar Ahmed, Azam Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Rizwan, Naseem Shah, Saim Ayub, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Usman Khan

Interesting to see if Pakistan tests their bench in the final Group A T20 WC 2024 game.
