New Delhi: Amid tensions with India, Bangladesh and Pakistan have started to grow closer. What is happening in Bangladesh right now has been condemned internationally.
On the one hand, the Mohammad Yunus government is talking about improving the atmosphere by meeting minority religious leaders in his country and talk of continuing trade with India and on the other hand, orders are being placed with Pakistan for weapons, RDX, and tank shells.
These revelations were made by Sajid Tarar, a prominent Pakistani-American businessman based in Baltimore, USA. Tarar is an expert on Pakistani issues.
He warned India and advised the country to be on its highest alert as he expressed grave concern over what he said is a “conspiracy against India”.
He said that India must be fully prepared and take anti-terror measures adding that the slogans of “Al-Jihad, Al-Jihad” are being raised on both sides of the Indian borders.
He claimed that Bangladesh’s Chief Advisor Dr Mohammad Yunus has not only ordered 25,000 tonnes of sugar from Pakistan, but has also ordered firearms and weapons.
“Obviously, they are not doing this for Pakistan and India should be very concerned. Bangladesh has asked Pakistan for a supply of 40 tonnes of RDX, 28,000 high-intensity projectiles, 2,000 tank shells, and 40,000 rounds of artillery,” said Tarar.
He also said that Mohammad Yunus has removed the necessary conditions for visa applications for Pakistanis. Previously, anyone who had to apply for a visa from Pakistan had to furnish an NOC, now this clause has also been annulled.
He said that some people in India are upset because they are talking about their past experiences. They believe that during the previous tenure of the Bangladesh National Party (BNP), terrorists like Lashkar-e-Taiba, Masood Azhar, and Sajjad Afghani came through the Bangladeshi border and carried out the Mumbai attacks.
Sajid Tarar said that BNP was in power from 1991 to 1996 and again from 2001 to 2005 and the Indian objections to this is that they think that Masood Azhar and Sajjad Afghani, both of them came from the border of Bangladesh.
David Headley and Tahawwur Rana, who were Americans and Canadians who did recce for the Mumbai attacks, also had links within Bangladesh, he said.
“Some people say that Lashkar-e-Taiba operatives were roaming freely in Bangladesh. At this time, some people who are upset inside India also say that they will now start supporting Kashmir from the Bangladesh side.
He said that the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI was behind all these things.
