He may be an Emmy-nominated actor, but Pedro Pascal is always a proud brother at the end of the day. The Last of Us star attended the 2024 Emmys with his younger sister, 31-year-old trans actress and model Lux Pascal, on his arm.
The brother-sister duo donned matching black looks, following the trend of dark neutral formalwear on display at this year’s ceremony, which was rescheduled from 2023 due to the Hollywood labor strikes. Pedro, who was nominated for lead actor in a drama series for his role as Joel in The Last of Us, wore a black sweater and trousers, which went perfectly with the sling that he’s been sporting for the entirety of awards season thus far after suffering a fall. Lux walked the carpet on his good arm, wearing a stunning high-necked black dress with cut-out detailing.

Although Pedro largely keeps his personal life private, his bond with Lux is evident. In an April 2023 Esquire profile, the actor shared that he sees his late mother Verónica, who died by suicide in 2000, in his little sister. He added that although he and Lux don’t get to see each other often given their busy schedules, she “is and has always been one of the most powerful people and personalities I’ve ever known.”
“My protective side is lethal, but I need her more than she needs me,” he told Esquire at the time.
In a recent interview with Queerty, Lux described Pedro and her other siblings as “the best part of my life.”
“It’s a huge privilege to have an older sibling like him, because, in a way, he makes me feel like I’ll never be alone… and certainly I wish I can give him that sense of security, too,” she said, going on to joke, “I guess that could be a little annoying! We never leave each other alone!”
Pedro is certainly no stranger to teaming up with trans talent. He developed a close friendship with his nonbinary Last of Us co-lead Bella Ramsey, who shared that they and Pascal often had conversations about gender and sexuality on the show’s set. Although the show won’t return until 2025, we can rest assured knowing that plenty more queer post-apocalyptic stories are on the way.
