Niki Mehra on Social Media Trolls And Ways to Handle

Even while the content creation began during the lockdown, Niki Mehra had already established herself in the industry. She shared that her journey as an influencer was something unplanned and happened quite organically. She always had a love for fashion which eventually turned into blogging. Well, as a public figure, Niki revealed that there have been instances where people made negative comments about her. She disclosed, “In my case, people are quite quick to assume that whatever I do in life is because I come from a privileged background. So, they just discount any hard work that you put in. But it’s not like my dad or my husband now are from the industry or they even know anyone from the industry. We are typical Delhi people, it’s nothing like my family has nothing to do with fashion and all. So, it’s just hard when people attribute your success to the men in your life and discount what you have put it in. Like, I have been in the industry for a decade now so, that gets to you but eventually, you learn to live with it.”

Niki also added that as “creators we have to be thick skin and cancel the noise.” She also shared a few tips for upcoming creators who want to flourish in this business to maintain confidence and avoid trolls. She said, “If this profession was easy everyone would be doing it. I say that to literally my team when we are stuck anywhere, if this was an easy profession everyone would be successful and everyone would be doing it but it’s not. And I just think, it’s very easy for someone who is behind the screen to pass the comments but you can’t let that get to you and the rewards that our industry has to offer today are far greater than a handful of trolls. So, you have to focus on the good.”

Niki Mehra on Cannes Debut 2024

Niki, who made a tremendous debut this year at the Cannes Film Festival, added, “I wasn’t expecting everyone to love the looks as much as they loved the looks. I was confident that it was good but I was not expecting everyone to appreciate it the way they did.”

Her red carpet appearance in a sculpted white gown was nothing short of stunning. On Instagram, she wrote, “Baby Niki: I hope one day I feel really beautiful, confident and make you proud. Future Niki: babygurl, I promise you will. MY CANNES RED CARPET DEBUT, with you.”
