Philadelphia Eagles have favorable spotlight games this season

They may not be America’s Team (debatable) but the Philadelphia Eagles have a share of FOX Sports America’s Game of the Week this season with at least three featured games.

FOX Sports weekly features their “America’s Game of the Week” for games that might be interesting to watch. Week 1 features the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears. The NFC North matchup will be interesting to watch after Aaron Rodgers left Green Bay.

The defending NFC Champions will be in the spotlight this season as they attempt a repeat Super Bowl appearance – something very difficult for the losing Super Bowl team in recent years. They share the spotlight with five primetime games and will be in the featured games of the week three times.

Their first game of the week comes in Week 6 against the New York Jets. It will be interesting to watch a future Hall of Fame quarterback in Rodgers compete against the young Jalen Hurts. It’ll also be great practice for some of the younger guys competing against each other in both teams getting at each others’ veteran players.

The second game comes in Week 9 against their division rival, Dallas Cowboys. It seems like this game is a given considering the Eagles-Cowboys rivalry is featured every year. Besides this game of the week, the two teams will face off again in primetime.

At this point, it might potentially be the Eagles and Cowboys competing for the division so these two games will garner a lot of attention.

The final “America’s Game of the Week” feature comes in Week 13 in the NFC Championship rematch with the San Francisco 49ers. It’s a little surprising that this game isn’t a primetime game considering the rivalry between fans and teams, but it will still garner attention anyway.

Both teams improving from last season, it will be interesting to see who’s able to come out on top again.

This would be a game that each team keeps circled because the conference may come down to both of those teams and makes the difference of who is first and second in the conference.

You could argue that another interesting game that could be flexed is the return of former defensive coordinator-turned-head coach Jonathan Gannon and the Arizona Cardinals against the Eagles on New Year’s Eve – but that might put Philadelphia in an uproar on a holiday.

No matter what, the Eagles are going to get a lot of attention and be hyper-analyzed this season. The team is going to continue doing them and focusing on these featured and primetime games.
