NHAI Project Director Dheeraj Singh stated that two sections of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway are fully ready for inauguration.

New Delhi: Road connectivity stands as a significant achievement of the Modi government, with highways constructed over the past decade drastically reducing travel time between states. In the latest addition, the work on the two sections of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway has been completed. According to the reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to inaugurate these sections and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has requested a time slot from the PM’s office.
The sections of the highway are likely to be inaugurated before the Delhi Assembly elections scheduled to be held early next year.
Reports further add that the authorities have completed security audit work before the inauguration. In recent days, heavy vehicles were tested on the expressway to assess load capacity. It is being reported that the expressway meets all safety standards. The construction of the expressway was scheduled to be completed in 2023 but was finalized in November 2024.

- The sections of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway are 32 kilometers long.
- The 17-kilometer stretch in Delhi is elevated and spans from Akshardham to Laxmi Nagar, Geeta Colony, Loha Pul (Kailash Colony), Shastri Park, New Usmanpur, Kartar Nagar, Khajuri Khas Chowk, and Biharipur.
- The remaining 15 kilometers fall within the boundaries of Ghaziabad and Baghpat districts.
- The construction of the expressway was completed in two separate phases.
- The expressway has been connected to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway near Mavikala village in Baghpat.
NHAI Project Director Dheeraj Singh stated that two sections of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway are fully ready for inauguration. All inspections of the expressway have been completed, and there are no deficiencies on the route.
