Italian fashion house Prada is bringing the exhibition Pradasphere II to Shanghai on December 7, 2023.
Building upon the success of the first edition in 2014, the exhibition is set to offer a storied history of the Prada brand, from its inception in 1913 to the contemporary fashion powerhouse it is today.
Curated by Prada’s co-creative directors, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, the exhibition will share more than a century’s worth of history and innovation, presented through a curated selection of over 500 artifacts, both physical and digital. These artifacts are drawn from the fashion archive and Prada’s engagement in art, architecture, culture, and sport over the decades.
In particular, it will highlight key themes and ideas that have been central to the brand’s identity, such as the meticulous craftsmanship that has defined Prada’s products. It also delves into the complex aesthetic contradictions that have been at the core of the brand’s identity, showcasing how Prada has consistently challenged traditional notions of luxury under the creative stewardship of Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons.
The exhibition will run until January 21, 2024.
