Two experienced executives have joined PrimaLoft, the US apparel insulation specialist: Chris Gallo has been named senior vice-president of product strategy, and Andrea Paulson is PrimaLoft’s new senior vice-president of innovation and technology.
Andrea Paulson and Chris Gallo
Gallo was formerly vice-president in charge of products at fitness brand Nobull. Before that, he spent nearly six years at New Balance, as general manager in charge of the Global Team Sports and Promo Sports categories. He also previously led product marketing for Reebok’s fitness training range, and was in charge of team sports at Adidas.
Paulson will contribute the know-how she gained at Saucony, where she spearheaded material development and innovation, and led the Human Performance Lab. It’s knowledge that PrimaLoft is keen to tap in order to develop innovative, efficient and sustainable insulation materials.
“Andrea brings a unique blend of technical expertise and visionary product leadership to PrimaLoft,” said Anne Cavassa, PrimaLoft president and CEO. “Her deep understanding of material innovation and her passion for sustainability are exactly what we need to continue driving forward,” she added. About Gallo, Cavassa said that “Chris has that intangible knack for spotting future market needs and translating them into relevant products that enthusiasts and athletes love.”
Cavassa took office as president almost a year ago, having previously worked at Nike, Timberland and Saucony. With brands such as Helly Hansen and Isbjörn of Sweden among its main clients, PrimaLoft’s hiring strategy is geared towards expanding its client base by adding lifestyle brands to more performance-oriented ones. Last year, PrimaLoft launched a new range of materials made using marine plastic waste.
